Julie Blechman, MPH, CHES, is as a research communications specialist in the reproductive health and family formation research area at Child Trends. She is a health education specialist who designs and implements strategies to engage with a variety of target audiences. Ms. Blechman manages a range of communications activities for the HHS Office of Adolescent Health’s (OAH) website and communications contract, including communications planning, content development, editing, website management, and social media strategy and implementation.

Previously, Ms. Blechman was the manager of communications for an infection prevention professional association where she led the strategic development of their flagship patient safety campaign. She worked to grow the organization’s social media presence, increasing significantly the number of followers and engagement rates. Through these efforts, she helped surpass the organization-wide strategic goal of reaching 1 million engaged consumers by 2020, two years ahead of schedule. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®), and she has earned a Master of Public Health degree from the George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science degree in health science from the University of Miami.
