<h4>About this office</h4>
Child Trends is headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, just a few miles from Washington, DC. In addition to researchers from every program and topic area, the Child Trends office in Bethesda also includes the organization’s executive staff and its accounting, contracts, communications, and administrative departments. Our proximity to the nation’s capital gives our Bethesda staff the opportunity to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders, and to share information with policymakers working to improve the lives of children and families.

Washington, D.C. Area

The Minnesota Child Trends office opened in 2000 and is located in downtown Minneapolis. Minnesota staff primarily focus on early childhood research, and the office houses both full-time staff and interns who partner with Minnesota state agencies, the University of Minnesota, foundations, school districts, and local organizations. Our collaborative work on behalf of the public and private sectors involves conducting evaluations, research studies, and policy analyses, and serving as expert consultants and technical assistance providers, both in Minnesota and nationwide. For example, the Minnesota office’s long-term research partnership with the Minnesota Department of Human Services has contributed to state policies that govern child care subsidies, professional development for the early care and education workforce, supports for the quality of early care and education programs, and families’ access to high-quality care.

Minnesota

The North Carolina Child Trends office opened in July 2014 and is located in Chapel Hill. The North Carolina office includes staff with expertise across the full breadth of Child Trends’ portfolio who work on federal, state, and local projects. In addition to our national projects, staff work closely with North Carolina’s state and local leaders, supporting implementation and evaluation of programs and projects. For example, we provide expertise on using and integrating data, evaluate early childhood quality improvement efforts and family reunification efforts, and provide training and technical assistance in best-practice programs to support children’s social-emotional development.
